Torrey Smith’s Celebrity All-Star Basketball Game:

Entering its 3rd year, Torrey Smith’s Celebrity All-Star Basketball Game has become a premier event for the Fredericksburg community! Torrey puts together a star studded lineup to showcase a Ravens vs. Redskins themed event with a fun filled evening of entertainment as we focus on raising funds for the community. With tickets starting at $10, this is a must attend event for you and your family. Entertainment includes a raffle of autographed memorabilia, pictures with celebrity attendees and halftime entertainment. In conjunction with the game, we have a can food drive to support the local food bank. Pre-sale tickets available at Brown Paper Tickets (click link).

Torrey Smith Kids of Character (KOC) Program:

The purpose of KOC is to encourage, honor and recognize youth who have notably demonstrated good character by working to assist others in their community who are in need of emotional, physical, financial or spiritual support. Participants are youth ages 5-18. Entry into the program requires a nomination by an elder in the community, family, church or school.

Participants will demonstrate work in all 8 areas below by June 1st of the specific calendar year in order to be inducted as an official “Kid of Character”. Our foundation will provide different opportunities to participate in all the areas below throughout the year.

Operation Give Back:

Each year Torrey selects eight (8) student athletes from his high school to receive brand new Under Armour sports equipment and apparel. TSF focuses on assisting student athletes that are in need of support but persevere through adversity to excel both on and off the field. Special thanks to Under Armour for your partnership in this program.

Back to School:

Each year, TSF distributes 100 fully loaded book bags to students throughout the Baltimore City & County Public Schools System. With the goal of having students prepared for school with the necessary supplies, the book bags provided will include the following items: pencils, pens, paper, binders, notebooks, pocket folders, crayons, glue sticks, staplers, scissors and more… Special thanks to Wal-Mart for your partnership in the program.

Thanksgiving Giveaway:

It was a very special Thanksgiving for families throughout Virginia as TSF partnered with MCS Services & Giant Foods to provide meals for those in need. A staple of this program is having TSF staff & volunteers cook and serve full meals for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Richmond, VA.

In addition, TSF was able to donate turkeys & meals to the Haven Shelter in Warsaw, the Empower House, The Hope House, The Thurman Brisben Center and the Fredericksburg Food Bank, so that they could distribute meals to the local homeless and families in need of assistance during this Holiday. All in all, over 500 people were served. Special thanks to MCS Services & Giant Foods for your partnership in this program.

“Teaming up with Torrey” – Holiday Toy Drive:

The Torrey Smith Foundation will be collecting new, unwrapped toys, to distribute Christmas gifts to children and families in the Sarah’s Hope at Hannah Moore homeless shelter, and other local families in need.

The first annual “TEAMING UP WITH TORREY”: Holiday Toy Drive will take place at Dogwood Elementary School on Tuesday, December 18th, 2012 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

By dropping off a new, unwrapped gift, you will be helping to bring the Christmas spirit to families in need! Your donated toys will be wrapped, labeled and given directly to children by Torrey on your behalf. Participants who donate a toy will receive a pre-signed holiday card from Torrey and a chance to win tickets to the Ravens vs. Giants game! In addition, the first 50 people will get a picture taken with Torrey and friends!
